Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 present "Dey" feat. Damian Marley
The son of Fela Kuti announces a new album!
Here's a connection that's sure to please! On the one hand, Seun Kuti, the talented son of Fela, who has carried the banner of Afrobeat with Egypt 80 for the past twenty-five years. On the other, Damian Marley, son of Bob, a key figure in contemporary dancehall and a pillar of the union between reggae and hip-hop, notably through his collaboration with Nas. These two artists, influenced by their illustrious elders, come together to share their love of a universal groove, transcending musical and geographical boundaries.
Entitled Dey, the track fuses African and Caribbean musical traditions, heralding a new Seun Kuti album to be released in October by Record Kicks. Accompanied by his band Egypt 80, the Nigerian saxophonist offers a long-awaited follow-up to his brilliant Black Times album released six years ago. Heavier Yet, produced by the legendary Lenny Kravitz and the talented Sodi, promises a captivating collaboration. We can't wait to hear more about this musical adventure!
